Mission
The main mission of the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund is to help military personnel who are suffering from the effects of psychological health (PH) conditions and traumatic brain injury (TBI). Through a series of facilities called “Intrepid Spirit” centers, these injuries can be diagnosed and treated. The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund works endlessly to provide the best possible care to these individuals who have done so much for our country.
History
Initially, the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund involved providing grants to families of military personnel lost in performance of their duty. However, in 2005, the federal government significantly increased its support for these families and the Fund decided to shift its focus to assisting our wounded heroes in uniform.
The Fund’s leadership team met with officials from the military and the VA to figure out what could be done to help. Together, they decided on focusing on the wounded military personnel who have sacrificed their lives to service our nation.
The founder of the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, the late Zachary Fisher believed that these military members are “our nation’s greatest national resource” and deserve all the help that our nation can provide.

In 2010, the central National Intrepid Center of Excellence opened in Bethesda Maryland on the grounds of the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Intrepid Spirit centers that are currently open and treating patients are located in:
Fort Belvoir, Virginia
Camp Lejeune, North Carolina
Fort Campbell, Kentucky
Fort Bragg, North Carolina
Fort Hood, Texas
Donations
100% of all of the donations to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund received from Total HealthcareMD and the public will support the cost of building new Intrepid Spirit centers. All administrative expenses of the Fund are underwritten by the Board of Trustees.
